Just because everyone is short on cash doesn’t mean we all have to be short on style. Some things we will have to give up, especially if you are graduating (i.e no more student loan), but when it comes to clothes, there are plenty of ways to maintain your look. Here are five tried-and-tested tips that will help you achieve this.
1. Go Vintange
Charity shops, vintage stores, your dad’s old school younger-days clothes – whatever you can find that’s the slightest bit dusty and used, grab it, wash it, and pimp it out with something modern.
2. Give Tesco a Go
We all know Tesco is great for cheap groceries – a step up from Aldis, but not as highly priced as Marks and Spencers or Waitrose. Clothes are no different. Don’t expect Primark prices but expect prices in the H&M range. If we look at men’s clothing for example, you can find checkered shirts like the one below for just £16!

Price: £16
3. Go All in, Online
Online retailers don’t have all those crazy costs such as rent in a city centre or bored staff who may not do much but still have to get paid. For this reason prices are usually a bit cheaper online. If you are strapped for cash, try the Google product search. It is basically a version of the search engine but one specifically made for products and price comparison! Check it out here.

4. Ebay Stuff You Don’t Wear
Everyone is an entrepreneur these days. And you can be too. Simply put your unwanted clothes on eBay and you will be a business man in no time. OK this is not the Apprentice but it can be quite a challenge to sell clothes online. So make sure you have the best pictures and that the items have been well taken care of. Which brings us to the next point.
5. Make it Last
Making your clothes last longer means you won’t have to spend past your overdraft. You will save money and keep your swag. That being said, you will eventually have to replace out of fashion items, but until then, you have to try and make them last longer. So fold them up right. Read the instructions on how to wash them. Iron on a regular basis. And avoid putting them through extremes – sports and big nights out for instance.
